Definitions

The terms used in this privacy protection guideline have the following definitions in their usual sense:

1. Personal Information: This refers to all kinds of information recorded electronically or otherwise that can identify a specific individual either on its own or in combination with other information. This includes, but isn’t limited to, names, birth dates, ID numbers, biometric data, addresses, and phone numbers.

2. Sensitive Personal Information: This is information that, if leaked, illegally shared, or misused, could harm personal and property safety, easily lead to damage to personal reputation, mental and physical health, or discriminatory treatment. Examples include ID numbers, biometric data, bank account numbers, communication content, and health information.

3. Device: A device refers to any equipment that can access AsianFin products and/or services, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones.

4. Device Information: Includes device model, unique device identifiers (like IMEI/Android ID/OPENUDID/GUID/IMSI), device serial number, MAC address, operating system type and version, screen resolution, telecom carrier, software installation list, software version number, and system language.

5. Unique Device Identifier: A unique device identifier (also known as exclusive ID or UUID) is a string of characters embedded by the manufacturer into the device to uniquely identify that device (like a phone's IMEI number). Unique device identifiers have various uses, including providing ads when cookies can’t be used (like in mobile apps).

6. IP Address: Every device connected to the internet is assigned a number called an Internet Protocol (IP) address, typically based on geographical regions. IP addresses can often be used to identify the location of the device when it connects to the internet.

7. SSL: SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a security protocol implemented over the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP/IP). SSL supports various types of networks and provides three basic security services, ensuring confidentiality of information through the use of public and symmetric key technologies.

8. Information Collection Technologies: The "automatic collection" mentioned in the AsianFin User Privacy Policy includes the following methods:

  • Cookies: Cookies are small text files placed on your client (computer, mobile phone, or other smart devices) by the website server while you browse. When you revisit the site, it can recognize your browser through the cookie. Cookies can store user preferences and other information. You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies or alert you when a cookie is sent. However, some website features or services may not work properly without cookies. For specific information, please refer to the AsianFin Cookie Guidelines.
  • Log Files: Log files store data collected automatically. This data includes IP addresses, browser types, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), referring/exit pages, operating systems, date/time stamps, and clickstream data.
  • JavaScript: JavaScript is a programming language used to create more interactive and dynamic web pages. JavaScript can set, read, and delete cookies.

9. Affiliate Companies: Refers to any company or institution currently or in the future controlled by, under common control with, or controlling another party. "Control" refers to the ability, directly or indirectly, to influence the management of the mentioned company, whether through ownership, voting rights, contracts, or any other legally recognized means.

10. Algorithm: A process or set of rules that a computer follows to execute problem-solving calculations.

11. Application Data Caching: This refers to a data storage mechanism on a device. Using it has many advantages, like allowing web applications to run without an internet connection and improving application performance by speeding up content loading.

12. Web Storage Using Browsers: This mechanism allows websites to store data in the browser on your device. If used in "local storage" mode, the data can persist across sessions, meaning users can access the data even after closing and reopening the browser. One of the technologies that facilitate web storage is HTML5.

13. Account: By registering for an account and providing us with some personal information, you can access our services. When you visit AsianFin, the system uses this account information to authenticate your identity and prevent unauthorized access.

14. Non-Personal Identifiable Information: Information related to users that cannot directly or indirectly identify you, including data that has been de-identified, anonymized, or pseudonymized.

15. De-identification: Refers to the technical process of handling personal information so that it cannot identify the individual without additional information.

16. Anonymization: Refers to the technical process of handling personal information so that the individual cannot be identified and the processed information cannot be restored.

17. Server Logs: Like most websites, our servers automatically log the web requests you make while accessing the site. These "server logs" typically include your network requests, IP addresses, browser types, browser languages, request dates and times, and one or more cookies that can uniquely identify your browser.
